terriermaniac 12
Just wondering has anyone ever heard of this "bloodline" of border terriers " flanback" a mate is thinking of buying one but I told him to get a bloodline name or the name of the breeder, and that's what he came back to me with! Of course a nice Russell x part isn't good enough for him :-) he has to go for a rare working breed! Quote Link to post

burrowman 6
Yes Mate, the "Flanback" prefix belongs to J.J.Flanaghan from cork city he used to work his borders for many many years and you couldnt meet a nicer more knowledgable terrier man. Regarding Borders in Ireland i would say nobody knows more. These days J.J. is more involved with showing but his son still works this line. This line came over from A.Small from Walsall,West Midlands his prefix was "Bethane". My old dogs mother was "Regina of Flanback" and grandfather was "Bethane Dillon" ive retired him now but he was as game as they come (if anything too hard). You should have no problem getting decendants of this line, the old line were all excellent workers.Send a p.m. if you have any more questions. a.t.b. Birchdown 38
Interesting stuff !!! I have heard of the Bethane prefix tho. Quote Link to post
BredtoHunt 8
If they are from his old line bred to working stock, go for it. Mine go back to Bethane Crib via JJ's borders. Edited January 8, 2012 by BredtoHunt 1 Quote Link to post
