here goes, retired married couple (my parents)

have seperated but not divorced

my mother is leaving for england and is declareing herself homeless with the council

my father is staying in ireland and has been left with the family home (morgage free)

my mother has every intention of controling my fathers life via barking down the phone at him, forceing him to keep and feed HER potlickers (11) cats (10) donkeys (7)

and also useing a soliciter etc

what are my fathers rights?

she might be declaring herself homeless but i bet when she gets over here she will get lawyers and your father will be forced to sell up so she can have her half

Without knowing the circumstances its hard to be sure, but they may view it as she has made herself voluntarily homeless and in this case they will not be obliged to home her.

Your father will most likely be expected to sell the house though in order to give her her half as soon as the lawyers get involved though

Half and half would be a good outcome, if all the children from the marriage are over 16 then the lawyers will take your old man to bits. I'de say with that many potlickers and shite about her he's well rid.
