mantha 2
hi all, just a quick question whats the best spun nylon to use to make purse nets and does it handle like hemp in the field?thanks for any replies. Quote Link to post
AndyKelly 251
spun nylon comes as standard it has 120 - 140 lb breaking strain and is available in various colours. it is easier than hemp to maintain though nets sold as 'hemp' are actually a poor quality flax and this is what causes the quick deterioration of the nets if not cared for proply.the lighter the spun poly the less chance of the rabbit rearing uyp before hitting the net as they only see a light grey colour opposed to a dark black on the darker colours. it handles exactly if not better than hemp and does not need the high maintanace that hemp does Quote Link to post

AndyKelly 251
spun nylon very thin usually used in cheaper nets, long nbets and gate nets usually available in 4-10 z not ounces the z in the nylon is the way it is spun together. spun poly is available in a variety of colours and is 4 strands braided together and it has a breaking strain of 120-140 lbs. it is better quality than spun nylon and doesnt catch up as much debris whilst out in the field and tangles less. spun poly nets are better quality than spun nylon Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Cheers for clearing that up Andy. Quote Link to post
