jarv5116 57
I think to catch over 100 rabbits. You would need a decent rabbiting dog but if you havnt got 100 rabbits to catch its bit impossible. Think alot of catching a 100 rabbits would come down to the ground you hunt. Im not saying its easy. Quote Link to post

bird 10,013
Don't matter where you are, 100 rabbits in one sessions with one dog is still impressive. Mind you it's going to happen less and less. Look at caithness. Dales will be the same way in not too long. Always happens when lots of folk get to know about it and want to rush in to make their name with the big bags. EIther kills off all the game or gets too hot. yes i was thinking that, sooner or later you would think the numbers would drop off. Is catithness no good then for rabbs,? i suppose nothing last for ever, by me 10 years ago was ok not big bags, but dozen a night 3-4 nights, now lucky to get dozen a week Quote Link to post

I can appreciate a good dog regardless of its vocation or whether its better than mine, trouble is far too many on this site have a chip on there shoulder, not just with dogs but life in general it seems.........You have a cockatoo, they have a cockathree etc. God forbid anybody says well done on one thread without first telling them how great they are, f**k me its the internet, does it really affect your life???? If so its time to log off.............. You wouldnt give any one any credit unless there your friend or even better a author I'll give credit where its due, a good dog is a good dog regardless who owns it, if you have something to say, just say it etc etc etc zzzzzzzzzzz I would if i did, just lack of sleep,It was you ,all the wife shes bigger than you .sorry,Time to log of before i start aurging about the colour of ferrets 1 Quote Link to post

Same round me mate, used to be decent bags to be had regular round here, but then a lot of lads started coming from other places to run their dogs, shoot, ferret etc. Cos they had heard there was plenty of game. And now it's hard going indeed to scrape together rabbits on the lamp, in the open ground. Quote Link to post
nighteyes 275
right land, dog, night ,etc imo i think it can be done but i think the person on the lamp would play as big as part as the dog [making it as easy as you can for it] ,theres a big difference to going out for a spin and going out for numbers imo, ive never owned a dog even capible of half of a ton but belive it could be done Quote Link to post
