there's no f****r arguing more than you, you've got average lurchers that do no more than anyone elses dogs do so who do you think you are to tell everyone whats worth doing and whats not?if its not fo

there are places but i cant see many grown men traveling a good way for to cacth lots of rabbits as its not sport , at times , in 90 to 94 many anite had 4oties and once 68 but at the time you got 50 p or maybe 75 a rabbit so diddnt spur you on were oth er game was fetching top prices , no guys shot 300 plus in a nite same place would had been good for running dogs ,never rated big bags of rabbits on easy land as a challenge

paulus in the early part of the ninties they used to send them to france with guts in a pound a rabbit and large qauntities , donr no why they left guts in but there you go

fecking french eat frogs and snails so a rabbit with the guts in wouldnt bother them

dont need worshiping dogs do whats on the tin ,68 is not a bad nite for an old beardie hanckock one dog , and when i mean a nite 3 to 4 hrs at most didnt even think a big deal as we got 50 odd quid for them ,never ever botherd them again until lately ,seems rabbs are getting better prices now in some areas ,like the rabbits but never ever looked at it as real hard going, great for training pups and retired dogs pre ban ,rabits are fun and if you get paid for pestcontrol and for the meat a good hobby

poachers in all my life never heard of 100 rabbits being a big milestone i no lots of huntin coursin buddies never ever heard them say whall we got a hundred ,the internets the first time ive even heard guys counting runs on rabbs etc i realy think its an english thing or young lad thing ,al the nites i done the rabbits and days never ever counted them once game dealer done it usaly with me , at weigh in , in the scottish borders there were full time rabbit cacthers like my self box traps dogs ferrets but neve r ever did we count every rabbit till weigh in , i remeber individual runs nites rather than how many bunnies ,if a man gets exited over a 100 rabbits with his dogs ,well find it hard to understand , cause i have sw some real poor dogs kiling a good few in these desolate places , an dnever ever took many photos ,of three pound rabbs , whats the mind set for that type of thing

if i gave up hunting tomorow i still cant see the big if of catchina hundred rabits as a man to man thing ps my little world stretches far very far at times its maybe you whose not as well versed ,not here to wrangle just find it difficult for a growin man to go an about a hundred rabbits when there was ful time rabbit cacthers doing it daily and geting lots , , the first time i saw pictures of guys with lots of rabbits was the nlrc lurcher club when they went to scotland they had them hanging there like trophys , wer4 half of them hardly hunted in there own back yard to difficult , josy this is not about me hunting just trying to find the mind set of feloow hunters who would get all het up about rabbits , if youre well versed youll get my drift

Read the replys and to be honest I still carnt see the point other than to prove a dog is well conditioned and has stamina, big bags were taken in the 80s early 90s by the likes of Minshaw, McPhee, Doxhope etc etc in hard times with one thing in mind... Money. That I can see the point of if money is tight and times are hard BUT A dog has to have much more than stamina to make it a keeper IMO

sorry not josy andy , rabbits are fun andy but its not like they can bite you kick you , its pretty safe , maybe im on a diffrent mind set if you said you had wrestled with agrizzly lol and i was there to witness it if you were still alive lol be a feat , or went down the fens with a minshaw and one a wee tournament i would say bloody good on you , but rabbs nevber thought a big manly feat , compaired to some types of hunting , all the best if i had never caut thousands and hadnt travel well i would think some nite but being lucky to see most hunting things mate ,

Oh come on Whin? 100 bunnies with ONE dog is some feat i'd say? Would you not agree? 10 hares during the day would also be some feat with ONE dog?...how about you? Pre-ban catching a few poxy Roe etc: well nothing to difficult about that was there? Ferreting with dog at heel? Does that float your boat then? Surely there must be something that you would give a dog and it's owner some praise for? ATB Andy. ;)
