To all the people reccommending putting a dog in with 4 or 5 sheep...... you could, depending on the dog, end up with a very different scenerio... like 4 or 5 dead sheep !!!.   Cheers.

A lot of people talk a lot of utter kak about dogs and sheep. The only thing you can do now is shoot it bla bla..........inbred c**ts! Iv had dogs do it and iv cured them of it. I cant be the only one

rabbits live in the same fields as sheep and i cant for the life of me think why i wouldnt lamp them or ferret them just walk ya dog through the sheep and at the 1st sign of any interest towards sheep give the dog a good old shake by the scruff and keep doing it till its got no interest unless you ask the rabbits to move into a more suitable field! i bet theres a few lads thinking [what] was he on about [not hunting rabbits in sheep fields]

Because he is yet another gung ho prick who likes to show off with his keyboard of course. He has been pointed in the right direction for solving the problem but no instead he think "i know what im going to do, im going to go and put the dog in the situation again knowing full well its going to happen again and then im going to do my rambo impression. I cant afford a phone call to jim greenwood so il do it my way. I only posted this thread for attention to bolster my pathetic little ego anyway".

Instead of tryng to bolt the door after the horse has bolted, all you lads with young dogs in the maiking - go and see a sheep farmer in the next couple of months. They will be lambing soon - depending on when they tupped. We have lambs now, we always have some early ones, but then lamb through to March. On the hills they will be tupping around now, so lambing come April.

Get a young dog and shut it in a sheep trailer with an old ewe that has lamb(s) at foot - she will be so protective over those lambs that she will take the dog on and sort it out. This is a well known sheep breaking method. I can walk my dog off the lead through a flock, and she comes in the lambing pens with me.

Go and give your farmers a hand to shift the stock about, take the dog and use the time to both forge stronger friendships, rain your dogs and do some useful work on the farm.

More bullshit, dog on lead, walk through livestock, 1st signs of any interest, sharp tug on lead with one simple command of NO, repeat until you are confident enough to let the dog off lead, job done, refresher course once a month , enjoy running your dogs amongst livestock

i beg to differ of your perception of me, i have had a few dogs over the 35 years i have kept running dogs, i have had and sorted out problem dogs, if you knew me youd know that, but cos you dont , you fire insults, i am big enough for them , but my dogs are my life, probably forgot more than others have learnt, so dont patronise me, i'm trying to get to the bottom of this, he is a strong resilliant individual, so will need to be treat with a strong hand , the collar is only the last resort, den
