You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours

Recommended Posts

A neighbour of mine is a keen shooter, he puts his own birds down(don't ask me the ins and outs lol) and lamps with a rifle. He's been telling me for a while About his land having rabbits in abundance but the land needs ferreted. So I told him if I ferreted it for him (which I would be happy to do ASAP free of charge!) I would want a favour in return. So he said he could take me out rough shooting.......

He came back an hour later with one of his mates and proposed that if I ferreted his land him and his mate would return the favour.

After much deliberation we decided that I would ferret the burrows and bolt to the shotguns for the morning as he only knew me that ferrets. Mid afternoon we would do some rough/walked up shooting with my lab x and head across to the duckpond for dusk. Then later that night his mate would take us out on his permission lamping with the rifle as a 'thankyou' for a days sport.

I'm looking forward to a day with a few different types of work in it. Not very often a chance like this comes around so I'm sure it will be good.

Anybody alas have varied days like this where you help somebody out and they return the favour?

Not quite the same, but I get lots of sport, (ferreting/lamping/roost shooting etc) as a result of always being available when more hands are needed, on the farms.
