Almateus 2
best to google chicken processors as suggested , i did this and found somewhere local that sells 15kg of carcas for £5, and 15kg of wings for £11 , the wings are EXCELLENT... ethnic/halal butchers may sell em cheap to. some wont sell em as there really arnt supposed to... hope i'm not out of order but the folks from pakistan will and dirt cheap..... dont wanna say the P word lol lol
jeppi26 1,855
Do you guys just give the dog the carcas or do you mince it up?
SalukiBULLJP 27
i give both mine in chunks not bigger than a maybe 1-2 inches...either chopped roughly..minced at the butcher or whole as a treat.....always check for rot as yer sometimes get a lazy or dodgy butcher that'll freeze and defrost over and over....hence they spoil fast....tripes a good healthy change and beef chunks too all with dried soaked meal and veg +oils = top fodder for them.....another good thing i chop in is whole frozen makerel now and again and heart/kidney but i boil it to kill any heart or bovine worms /parasite that are known to reside in the beasts internals...butcher and me dads buddy warned me years ago when i worked terriers to always boil em if there was any doubt to tak it back and show the butcher/slaughterman......dogs would never turn up thier noses as the smell is really good..like liver cooked...hope it helps out rex?...

Cheers for that I give mine a cod liver oil cap a day along with a garlic cap too + mixed veg 3 times a week and 2 mackerel fillets once a week as a treat and 1 chicken wing along with dried meal topped with gravy (only in the winter to put bait of warm food in them) but just found a chicken processor near me so going to try there for carcasses
sako22.250 3
thanks for the replys lads i will try that place gnipper atb kev
gnipper 6,521
If you get them from a decent sized processing place they will be freshly done that day so no green stuff etc. I chuck em to mine whole as one of the benefits of a raw diet is cleaner teeth from chewing their grub which you wont get if you mince them. Mooch. 177
I always feed chicken carcasses whole but I have to put them in the bowl last after I've mixed up the mince, offal, veg + whatever. The first thing my dog does is pick them out and drop them on the floor so he can eat the mince first!
