Urban Fox Control London 8
I have switched from my old conventional 'springer' rifle to pre-charged. Is it safe to use lightly lubricated pellets with a pre-charged air rifle or is there a potential risk of combustion with the high sudden pressure of air? No daft answers on 'lubricants' please Quote Link to post
paulus 26
why would you want to use oiled pellets if they were ment to be oiled there would be a resivior and pump like on a chainsaw, all that oil will do is stick dirt and shite on the inside of the barrell Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
Lead is a perfectly good lubricant! Quote Link to post

Buster321c 1,010
Always lube mine . I wash them in luke warm water with a drop of washing up luqid in . I gently `swirl` them around untill they are clean . Once they have been washed , i run the cold tap on them to wash away the soap suds . I pour the water out and empty them onto a tea towel , gently rolling them around to take away access water . I give them a rol in a kitchen towel and pour onto a paper plate , to sit by the boiler and dry over night . Once im happy that their dry and clean , i have a plastic bag which i give about 5 `sprays` of pellet lube . I carefully empty the pellets into the bag , seal it , and roll the pellets round untill each is covered in the lube . I again give them 24 hrs on a paper plate to dry , and put back in a clean tin . Try it , you`ll be supprised . Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
Always lube mine and discard any mis-shapen pellets. Definitely tightens up the groupings quite noticeably and most trophy winning FT shooters do the same. Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354
if your FT fair enough, but not all my pellets are perfect which go within an inch grouping, at 30yards...and the ones that do go out of an inch are my fault..pcp or springer, everyone has faults lol reason for editing didnt realise how big 1.5" was grouping tighter than an inch, but dont want to say just incase someone calls me up for a shoot off lolo Edited December 31, 2011 by robwelsh Quote Link to post
