nightcrawler 1
Have a look for a club local to you mate if your real interested look for a breeder who hunts his birds as you could be a his next client and ask if you could tag along with him for a bit I hunt with a harris hawks and it took me yrs to get where I am today with one thing and another. I use to shoot ferret hunt with my dogs everything todo with hunting lol it cost me my relationship. Like when got my first ultra it took me months to understand an master my set up with it the right scope mounts scope pellets camo gear togo with it and then lamping kits tried and tested. Weight lamp bulb lamp hrs it was all or nothing for me and knew the hard work involved in looking after a hawk an left it on the back burner as I wanted to sample other methods of hunting first ferrets, terriers, lurchers, shooting, What av learnt is that every hunting method requires full dedication and not dun half heartedly AS DOSE FALCONRY its a privillage to own such birds. Falconry reminds me of my lurcher days its amazing to watch a chase but now I see it in flight as to ground. shootings very diffrent but with the same results how many birds rabbits have you shot that day and only one made the day your best shot. Has that got you thinking theres always that one shot you will never forget. So if you would like to get into falconry think of these eliments below Do you have a mentour friend to advise you What bird do you want is it suitable for you What equipment do you need Do you have the time ? its not like shooting where you can put your gun back after cleaning it. you have to weigh exercise feed an clean its avary I had to adapt the day flying into night flying because of my job then swapped again. Where do you plan to house the bird is every one ok with it including your dogs if you have any my dogs lived out side and roamed my gardens and had to think about hawks bateing at them and what sort of avary are you going to build and on what ground soils, concreat pad stone, pea gravle all the things you need to consider an thats just your avary. Where will you get the birds food from Do you know your closest raptor vet or avain vet Do you have land and permission to fly it on Thats just a few things to consider friend best of luck pm me if you need any more advice.
