some stich bagging in but some/most have the line runing through the meshes at top and through end pins at each end then through the bottom, spicing the ends where they meet

Sorry mate i don't think i asked the right question every 5 yards there is obviously 10 yards of net how do you stop it from moving? do you literately stitch it at the top and bottom ?

i would not but some do.. getting the bagging in the correct place comes by practice you have to gauge you much is coming off the end pin but unfortunatly you need to pick your net up well to have the bag even in the first place..

practice, practice and more practice in the day is the only way im affraid

You could tie it to the lines with a bit of wool etc but as your running it out you will see whats happening to the bagging and alter it to suit

You do have to put 87 meshes every 5 yards though don't you ? and then like you said arrange the bagging within the 5 yards ? is that right ?

Too technical for me i just run them so there no strung tight like a tennis net and once your setting them i judge the bagging looking at the meshes on the top line

The old Lad that taught me, used to say, you have to regulate the net.

He didn't like the bagging tied in,

I would run the net out down the park, before a nights netting, pulling the bunches, like above, having no tight lengths , bagging equal right along the net,

Then gather up, and your ready for your drop.

the thing is we dont all work nets the same and as your new to longnetting the trad way its possible imo to have too much info and this leading to an overload

just run your nets for now and practice with the info that you have and devolop in your own time..
