old real tree 92
well lads last night was a nightmare to say the least, it started really good and heres how it went, got to bobbys around 9 30 after going the wrong way so done about 20 mile extra, we then had a cuppa and let the dogs get to know each other again as i havnt been there for a good few months, we thwn loaded the dogs in to my van and we was away, drove about 8 mile to the farm and parked up in the court yard, wellies on and dogs on slip ready for it, first field we seen a rabbot tight against the fence, so i thought i would give millie a run on it, down the beam she goes like a rocket and hot on the bunnys tail, she turns the rabbit in to the field and picks it up, happy days one in the bag, second slip was for bobbys black dog (ben) squatter in the field nice and open, dog turns it twice and it slips in to a hole on the outside of field, had another 3 runs for millie and she catches them all in the first field, so off to the next field, wind still blowing and no moon so it was pritty perfect for it, to get to the next field we had to cross a small river, around 2 to 3 foot deep, we walked ru the river and found a place to cross, it was a timber made dam of some kind to catch all the branches so off we go, i was half way accress and millie was getting anxious as she aint too fond of water, one big splash and a jump and she was over, i skuttled over to the other field and waited for bobby. while i was waiting for him i noticed millies leg was bleeding so i looked closer, WOW she had sliced her back leg, bleeding quite bad too, i could see her muscle in her leg and her flesh was opened up around 2". that was it for me i wanted to head back to the van and rest her up, on route back to the van we had a quick shine just for ben to have a run, he managed to catch one, so end tally was 5 with my bitch (millie) accounting with 4, we only done one field..... still not sure what to do with her leg, but if i think its a trip to the vets thats where we will be going, thanks for reading will get pics up soon..... carl Quote Link to post
