im thinking of buying one of the bull barrel tactical ruger 10/.22 just for rabbits i was wondering if anyone else had one and if so how do they perform also is it possible with them having a bull barrel to fit a moderator to them,the rifle bellow is one like the one im thinking of getting and the barrel doesn't look like it has a thread on for a mod but maybe someone on here knows thanks regards benji

Bull barrelled, and semi auto would rule it out for me,, too heavy and loss of accuracy and increased noise.

i think the modd is incorperated into the barrel itself like some of the air rifles about know

Got a Ruger 10/22 semi auto love it had it over 20 years been feed CCi stinger, CCi subs & CCi mini mag. Just check it doesn't have a carbon fibre barrel as you can't use high velocity through them. As for accuracy not had a problem. They are slightly noiser. As for wasting lead that is down to the user.

Its just the standard target barrel but 16", i think they come threaded now. I just sold my 10/22T with a threaded 12" barrel last week, they are a nice rifle but if i was you i would buy a second hand 10/22 get it chopped and threaded to what length you like and stick it in a Hogue stock. Should work out cheaper than buying a new Tactical, think they are around £600? FWIW i still have a CZ452

brother in law has one of these, tell you one thing you'd want to be a bodybuilder to carry it around its very heavy

also jams alot which is a nuisance.

thanks for your replies and im not too bothered about the weight of it as im not a small chap but could the problems of them jaming be sorted by an aftermarket ejector of something i already have a bolt action .22 which im happy with but i want a semi auto and iv seen alot of stuff about them on the net and alot of people have them.

Jamming is normally caused by people oiling the semi auto bolt action. It needs to be completely free of oil as the unburnt powder will stick to the oiled parts. Semi autos are more dirty than a bolt action as everything goes up the barrel on a bolt action. Also your will find that your gun will like a certain ammo. If i use winchester subs i have nothing but problems but if i use a cooper coated bullet like CCi no trouble at all. My ruger has been fed plenty of CCi stinger and CCi subs no complaints from there performance. Get your gun from a dealer that knows his guns e.g. Wilson & Wilson in kent

If its a semi auto you are after the 10/22 are very reliable and will feed on most things you put through it, you might also want to look at a remmington 597, these are supposed to be the most accurate rimmy out of the box there is, but if its just bunny bashing your after, I agree the CZ bolt is the way to go.
