DaveRhodes 0
Has anyone ever heard of a fox taking a puppy ? i will explain , my grandsons border/russell terrier aged 15 weeks disapeared last night from his garden at approx 7.45pm . usual case they turned there backs for 5 mins and he was gone , all the neighbours heard or saw nothing .... they live in an area with a few urban foxes about ... i tend to think that some low life has taken the pup but i cant help thinking ... my grandsons are distraught , and weve spent the last 24 hours searching .. phoned police , vets , rspca , dog warden etc etc .. would welcome any comments ... regards ..desperate Dave Rhodes .. Callum. 2
There is an apparent case of a dingo in australia snatching a baby, and i'm not sure how the dingo and fox compare in size but a young dog that is small when fully grown would surely be a suitable target for an oppurtunistic predator such as a fox? It is possible, other things could of done it,some pikeys taking it wouldn't surprise my either! Best of luck finding it! Quote Link to post

tillearthdouspart 100
I think if ye had just turned your backs and a fox snatch it you should have heard him squeal maybe not ? I think he will turn up if not stolen. 1 Quote Link to post
terrier s 123
hi mate i was out bushing a few years ago with my dogs had a puppy with me she was going in and out of the cover when i noticed a fox crawling along the ground trying to sneak up on the pup as soon as it noticed me it ran away but i dare say if a fox is hungry enough it would have a go at anything, hope the pup turns up Quote Link to post
events co-ordinator 353
I know of two separate cases of yorkshire terriers killed by a fox one in a back garden and one chased into a back kitchen and killed in front of its owner as she sat in her wheelchair. Quote Link to post

sallie 67
If a fox will take young lambs dont see why it wouldnt try and take a pup. I would have thought you would have heard something. Our pups have sometimes run like that but have always been back within the hour. I do hope the pup returns atb. Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,865
my sister saw her yorkie being taken by a fox.it was a tiny horrid little shit and she said it tried to run way but the fox was on it in a flash.I must say it was a very happy day for me as it was a vile little fukker. The sister was in the kitchen when the fox burst from the hedge grabbed little rosie and away the bro in law searched for a while but no sign thankfully. 2 Quote Link to post
