Mixy!

Hi all, new to the forums

 

Been seeing a lot of mixy around these past couple of months, it's a shame really as the rabbits that have got it are a nice size, would be better in a pie!

 

Has anyone else seen a big increase in mixy levels?

 

I shoot on a friends farm/livery and have only seen mixy this year.

it got really bad in yorkshire. every one i shot had got it or was getting it but it seems to of died down in the winter

I'm in Yorkshire too, have only seen it October till now, it's gotten worse, especially when you see decomposing rabbits all over the fields and hedgerows!

Need to find some more permissions, maybe a wooded area for the squirrels.

When the disease was introduced in 1954 wasnt it suposed to reoccur every 4 yrs then go away again ?? Its seams now that its every year, Obviously it must be getting weaker over time and the rabbits becoming imune to it. !!

If the bunnys are getting imune to it its a good way in away because ther will be still rabbits about to bread after the mixo has hit
