seeming as most of my area and county has been wiped out with mixi their isnt much. obvs there still is some, but the numbers arent high. maybe your area is fine. due to the mixi fox have had easy pickings and there are high numbers.

I reckon the wankers with ferrets take more than the arseholes with rifles and the tosspots with dogs put together.

Myxomatosis and RVHD take more than all coonts combined.

Not many about here on north bucks either. Nevermind, numbers always bounce back and quickly too if you take the pressure off them and allow them to breed.

Thats it take the pressure off em for a while, 180 mile round trip i did today, up to Criccieth, set off crack of dawn, plenty of time on my hands being retired, i gained new permission, took just the 1 dog, brought 1 bunny home, im happy with that, at least im out n about not festering in front of the fire

your lucky to get more then 5 a nite on the land i run in a 5mile radius of my house but what i do is do a few trips in the motor and ya get a bigger bag but a empty tank

180 mile round trip for 1 rabbit,, says a lot really though doesn`t it ? Not just me that is seeing low numbers then,, At that rate,, a rabbit would be dearer than stalking a roe !

I know what you mean Thomps- I went ferreting yesterday with long nets, purse nets, dog n gun and a couple of really solid guys and took the whole day to get 7.

Very few rabbits round here aswell. We got Myxi here too, first time for about 3 years.

 

Out with the lamp before Christmas and only had one slip. The land had loads of Rabbits in the Summer, looked like it was going to be a good season.

The rabbits always seem scarce at this time of year i find. It is bloody cold most years at this time in NE scotland, and they alway lie low. I was out stalking last week however and the ground was moving with rabbits on one hill, so they are still there.

 

I dont think we should worry too much about them, they bounce back quickly. I also dont think it matters if it guns, dogs, snares or ferreters that take them, you can oly take them once and it matters not a jot them method of hunting, it wee take the last one there will be none left.
