IanB 0
They are good, but so are some of the other tablets like the galaxy tab.. Given the choice between the likes of an Ipad and a laptop or PC, I'd choose the PC any day..Everything is much easier to use and more powerful and freely available.. I bought a cheap acer laptop couple of year back for £360 off ebuyer to take to work with me, 500GB harddrive, 4GB memory, powerful processor, HD screen, DVD rewriter, etc I store hundreds of movies on it, music, I use photoshop and any other programs I want on there, microsoft office, etc IMO Apple Ipad - Glorified Iphone, very nice, very handy and portable for just browsing the web (limited), listening to music, movie, etc Although limited in its use and RIP off.. Laptop - Open to anything you want, totally versatile, More space, More power... But not a new gadget.. Check this, nearly half the price of an Ipad 64gb, with windows 7, carry case, and blows an apple Ipad out the water in feature terms http://www.ebuyer.co...op-lx-rn502-020 Although yes I'd still have an Ipad for easy browsing around the house, and its a gadget

Yes you can do that mate. You can get it linked with your I phone to recieve messages too. Which is great if like me you cant recieve messages in the house because the signal is very near non existent but with WiFi you can recieve them....
Mac 30
I wouldn't compare the ipad to a PC or its bigger brother the Mac laptops or desktops. They are not in competition replace the PC generation, but more an internet browsing gadget with benefits. If you are replacing your pc , then do so with another PC not an ipad. The ipad to me is a new generation portable toy to enjoy online surfing , books, films, buying , some gaming and online banking etc For desktop publishing and editing, the pc is the way to go. Im on my second ipad as i had the first one, i rate it highly but wouldnt swap my pc for one. Smart TV anyone ?? i hear they are the next boys toy.

Nik_B 3,790
My only problem with the IPAD and those touch screen phones is I am totally OCD about finger prints on screens so I'd be cleaning it every ten seconds.

Thats the thing with a new one coming out every year there soon out of date. iPad 3 screen is supposed to have 4 times the detail, much faster processor and 8mb camera. They do it on purpose, yours is still a great bit a kit but some geeks have to have the new one every year.

My daughters iPod touch has got the new retina screen and if I'm honest it is better than this if I put the geek hat on! I'm not one to rush out and buy the latest model of everything these days, and so far this one is more than adequate for my needs. And get your self a Griffin case to cover it I'll look into that pal, cheers.
