stav11 32
i use a red one night then a orange another then with out i have found this to be very productive Quote Link to post
philkemp 50
Honestly used white light for years and when i started using a filter caught miles more and ran a lot more to it doesnt help that theres a lot at it round this way if i go over dales i still dont use 1 but thats jst because the rabbits are daft up there n dont get bothered we lamp so much Quote Link to post
Moll. 1,770
I don't use one (red) till late in the season, when the uncaught rabbits are then lamp shy. They are worth their weight in gold in rough dead grass/weeds, where the white light would create a glare, with a red you can see the eyes in it 2 Quote Link to post
MrsChamp606 553
Had better results over the last couple of seasons with a red filter Quote Link to post
lofti 579
use the red,its good to just have a quick scan round to see where the bunnys are at with out spooking them all. as you can see there eyes from a good distance of. 1 Quote Link to post
jonny10 20
I use the red myself I think it depends on your land around my way the rabbits are so shy as soon as they get a glimpse of a White light they are gone.they seem to be getting shy of the red now aswel so I might try an orange and see if that makes a difference Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
When the rabbits start to get lamp shy its time for a filter. Iv used red, orange, blue and green and all of them work. If your lamping near to houses or roads a filter is a good idea cos it cuts down on glare which means it wont be so noticable. Quote Link to post
freelance 448
Honestly used white light for years and when i started using a filter caught miles more and ran a lot more to it doesnt help that theres a lot at it round this way if i go over dales i still dont use 1 but thats jst because the rabbits are daft up there n dont get bothered we lamp so much I have to agree, i never used to use a filter for bunnys. But when i was roadsideing back in the day preban for other stuff i always spotted with a filter on. I have lamped round your way Phill and yeah theres plenty at it and some area,s are a tad hot, but i also think parts of the dales are getting that way now. Quote Link to post
