chappy030 5
3 TERRIERS (2 BUSH BITCHES AND 1 GROUND BITCH), 4 GREYHOUNDS (2 DOGS 2 BITCHES) RACING AND COURSING. Quote Link to post
Saluqihounds 150
7 here only the 4 salukis are really worked, I really have too many, I had a pup I bred 6 years ago come back to me from a pet home as he was killing stuff and landed the owner in a bit of bother so he came back to me (if you produce pups I believe in taken full responsibility for them). I have the mother who's 8 and another male a litter mate to the one that came back, plus my 2 years old Kazakh Tazi she was too good an opportunity to pass up. The other 3 are my O/H's Bedlington terrier, BeddieXwhipXbeddieXgrey broken and retired and a beardieXgrey very old and retired, they all get out for a mooch daily but only the salukis see any real work. In the future I'll not keep as many mainly due to an increase in the amount of folk wandering the countryside these days, I like to take the pack out on horseback and it's not easy if constantly meeting other folk with dogs. In the past I needed to keep a lot of lurchers so that I could keep hunting if some were injured, with the salukis I don't really have that problem so I don't need as many these days, 2 good Salukis/Tazi's with 5 or 6 year between them will do me in the future, 3 at a push if I have an real long lived oldie. Romany 1,065
I am at one of the only times in my life where I do not have a dog.. and at times I sit so unhappy without a canine chum "But, there is a time when youthful zest seems to return, rejuvenated like a Pheonix rising from the white hot ashes of the past, a personal time when sitting comfortably alone and contemplating past achievements or what was said and what was enjoyed. My body may now show many signs of waning life, but youth remains encamped in my heart and soul to gladden me when growing old touches me with sluggish fingers. With an easiness that comes from willing practice I vividly remember many childhood experiences. Oh how much joy and satisfaction is taken from these reveries that taunt my waking mind, exhilarating memories that haunt my dreams bringing back images and happenings that affected my early life so much, while above the dreamy lilt booms the laughter of many old friends and the whines of good dogs" Might have to get another dog Quote Link to post
