Tiny 7 1,694
Intresting... What do most of yous go for. Cause apart from colour at say 6/8 weeks old there anit alot to go on, There forward pups (or what ever you wanna call it) that will be the first ones to ya ect and i think personally there the more dominte pups and will go on to be dominte dogs bit more self relieant ect, Same as with the shyer types will be a bit more submissive as the grow up ect ect, What about shapes, lenght of back, legs neck ect The thing is how do you choose the right one too suit you and your ways... ? Be good to hear from the likes Skycat, Sandymere,Socks just to name a few on here about there thoughts on pups and pups that would suit a certain owner ect Quote Link to post
wharrier 39
In my case when I go for a pup the pup normally picks me just got to go with your gut instincts I suppose Quote Link to post
D.C. 34
Im lookin for your opinion on how to pick the best pup from a litter.? Would i pick the Most playfull or the most shy or even the most Agressive one... I've just got rid of a litter in which I kept a pup back for myself.....& there is NO GUARANTEE whichever you pick....I watched this lot for 8weeks & still could have picked any!!!! To be honest If the litter has been reared well there Shouldn't be a SHY one!!! they should ALL be outgoing, friendly & playful!! by aggressive i take it you mean dominant with its siblings, this is a question only you can answer.....what i would say is if you haven't had many dogs go for a gentler sort of nature, or you'll always be vying for top dog with a dominant pup & it can sour your relationship with it......all the best Our choice.....The best of the litter.....NOBODY KNOWS!! morton 5,368
Its not possible to pick with any certainty the outcome of a pup, what you put into its, nutrition and development will tip the scale in your favour,i always find that a certain pup,or 2,somehow manages to pick themselves. fieldsman 51
close your eyes reach out and pick one up.If they come from a good line the litter will be more even than a chance one off mating they should be the product of sound proven parents that are the product of the same from generations of the same then it will be less of a lucky dip Quote Link to post
x38 179
i spent 13 weeks looking but it was my litter and there s no law you got to pick by 8 weeks Quote Link to post

BrianSteven72 369
At 8 weeks or so its more of a lucky dip , for me its always a dog so i dont even look at the bitches so that narrows it down , after that its attitude shape size the way it moves and to some extent the colour after all that if it catches my eye im having it Quote Link to post
