are they still in the game?

Recommended Posts

Just read about Tommy Mcphee from Caithness in Phil Lloyds new book i used to correspond with tommy years ago, as like myself he liked his Dogs with Bedlington in them.

The other was Carl Williams from the Rhonnda who bred whippet X Greyhounds, just wondering if they are still in the Dog game.

I remember Tommy Mcphee from Caithness coming here to buy a bedlington greyhound type dog off the late Malcolm Knight and writing a great review of the dog in countrymans weekly Malcolm told me he was a really nice bloke..

Carl Williams now theres a name I don't hear much these days I bought a pup of him was litter brother of Ace mine threw much closer to the whippet only made 23" but I have never seen a dog with this dogs speed and agility unfortunately he came of 2nd best chasing a rabbit through dense woods hit an oak and broke his neck the end of a cracking little dog R.I.P Zak.

I was at Tommys a good few years ago with a mate who was friendly with Tommy, he had packed the lurcher game in and was on with sheep dogs. But we had a good old chat about the old days and he put us on to a few spots to get a run while we was staying up there, i thought he was a quietly spoken genuine nice enough sort of fella
