Whippets for rabbits are they ideal??

My pic is my whippet, cracking in the day on rabbits but hunts up at night and tends to smash into hedges and get cut up.good little dogs and very fiery

Are whippets good for just rabbiting? Will they catch them quick or do they need a decent run??

I got myself a laguna whippet, 10 month full grown. She is 18 inch tts, is this height ideal/average or is it small, its full grown btw laguna known to mature early age. She quick off the mark but lacks the pace, is this due to bein small or age?

smart dogs there mega hunter just bought one myself and he is coming on leeps and bounds usually run the bull x but thought id try a whippet because limited these days i would like him doing bigger stuff than rabbits.

think old darbo will have one of these next. should suit what i do now ferreting and general mooching.

I wouldn,t bother darbo, as you know I have one but I knew what I was getting, when I,m out ferreting on really cold days I reckon i,ll be leaving the wee one in the house and taking the much more hardy collie cur, I don,t think its fair on a thin coated dog standing about for hours on bitterly cold days

Don,t get me wrong, fantastic wee dogs for mooching, lamping, ferreting etc, only downside as far as I can tell imo is a thin coated dog standing about for hours when its bitterly cold I don,t like the idea of, if you,re going to be doing alot of ferreting I would recommend something with a bit more coat
