skycat 6,174 Posted December 22, 2011 Report Share Posted December 22, 2011 Keep it dry, let the dog lick it, don't let dog off the lead until enough claw has grown to protect the quick and if you do walk dog on lead then put foot in a bag held up with plaster to stop dirt getting to it. The quick will shrink back a bit. Should take about 3 weeks before its grown enough to let dog off lead, but I still wouldn't work it on bad, stony, mucky ground for another 2 or 3 weeks as the end will still be a bit open and you don't want infection setting in.
