Hw95 or hw80

Recommended Posts

Hi mate

I once was choosing between these about a year ago, via Sandwell Field Sports, their take (and they know their stuff, IMHO) was the '95 was the better of two greats.

I ended up buying a BSA S10 locally for about the same money so never pursued it, but I seriously doubt you will go wrong with either and I would love either in my cupboard.

With that sort of quality, just get the one that feels right to you when you hold it.

You can't go to far wrong!

I've had both and personally it's be the '80 for me. I preferred it for the extra weight, and slightly less noticable recoil, and I was just more accurate with it, at greater ranges. Thats purely because the '80 suited me better though, so as usual, get yourself to somewhere where you can have a hold of both and see which one you prefer, as what suits some certainly don't suit others...

Cheers,wurz

Neither one is better than the other, they're just different. The 80's a much older model but their design principle is very similar indeed.

The 80 has more weight to it which may be helpful if you do a lot of standing shots and you're OK lugging the thing about. If weight's an issue, the 95 may be the better choice but the only person who can say which one's best for you is you.

As has been said above, it's how the gun feels to you that counts the most and the only way you can decide is to handle and preferably shoot both guns. Fit is very important with gun choice and it's going to be you who's shooting with the thing.

Best of luck, whatever you go for
