george15 5
hw95 is the better of the 2 Quote Link to post
matt101 115
thanks for the reply, why do you think the 95 is the better option? Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
95 is lighter and made to have scope fitted ,so the stock is a better fit at the shoulder.the hw80 still has open sights Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
Hi mate I once was choosing between these about a year ago, via Sandwell Field Sports, their take (and they know their stuff, IMHO) was the '95 was the better of two greats. I ended up buying a BSA S10 locally for about the same money so never pursued it, but I seriously doubt you will go wrong with either and I would love either in my cupboard. With that sort of quality, just get the one that feels right to you when you hold it. You can't go to far wrong! Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
I've had both and personally it's be the ' for me. I preferred it for the extra weight, and slightly less noticable recoil, and I was just more accurate with it, at greater ranges. Thats purely because the ' suited me better though, so as usual, get yourself to somewhere where you can have a hold of both and see which one you prefer, as what suits some certainly don't suit others... Cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
airarmsman 2
hi,, 95 for me,less recoil very accurate easy to adapt to Quote Link to post
spot.me.in.the.dark 5
i have the 95 but still enjoy my bsa meteor ... try them both whichever you like the feel of is the one for you !!! Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
down side to the hw range is there internal build quality...rough springs and loads of grease mine was smoking for ages , i had it tuned , new spring, tophat etc Quote Link to post
matt101 115
yeah i will probably invest in a good tune at some point, i hear it makes all the difference Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Neither one is better than the other, they're just different. The 's a much older model but their design principle is very similar indeed. The has more weight to it which may be helpful if you do a lot of standing shots and you're OK lugging the thing about. If weight's an issue, the 95 may be the better choice but the only person who can say which one's best for you is you. As has been said above, it's how the gun feels to you that counts the most and the only way you can decide is to handle and preferably shoot both guns. Fit is very important with gun choice and it's going to be you who's shooting with the thing. Best of luck, whatever you go for Quote Link to post
