philkemp 50
100th fox of season im sorry but im a lurcher lad and it just dont seem [bANNED TEXT]? Not be hitting them numbers in a few year when we this ban plenty more lads blasting them jst dont seem [bANNED TEXT] to me, i kno theres plenty about but jst seems like a massacre to me i mean u can hit these guys from a real distance doesnt matter weather ite a healthy fox or a poor en none stand a chance? Now i agree we taking the odd chicken slayer thats causing mischeif but come on 100 only halfway through season, surely not only me thats a little upset by this? I dont have a problem we stalking at all but wud prefer dog work to shooting where fox are concerned terrier/lurcher/hound much more better for the population of foxes only the fittest survive dont like all this plugging them from 100 yrd shite! Rant over some really nice sika and roe dropped there good look on the deer front 1 Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
So you'd be more upset if i said its now 103 foxes .Maybe in your area the population lends itself to dogwork or you are kidding yourself that you are doing anywhere near as good a job as you think .Either way the population around me is steady ,always has been ,always will be .Come spring there will still be the call outs but lets not forget this is about control for landowners and not just sport as in your case .You can kid yourself all day long that the dogwork is any form of control , it is merely a tool in the armory of real fox controllers . You do your thing and ill do mine but come the end of shooting ill be posting digging results in the dog section too . Quote Link to post

swamp thang 16
That is some fine photography and a good story as well, Yokel Matt. I have a good mind to saddle up with my 308, and ride out for some deer hunting, inspired by your account here. Those forest shots make me want to be there, listening and waiting. Great stuff.
