After 14 years the time to say goodbye was tonight I shall miss him he gave up proper work 3 years back but still come out and sat in the landy and always had that strong desire to work even to the end working and flush a pheasant on his last walk tonight.

Looks like a proper best friend; I'm pleased to hear he lived life to the full.

 

Hope you can focus on the good mate, I know he will be missed. I still miss dogs I lost 12 years ago and that is the price we humans pay for having canine best friends.

Thanks guys I made the mistake of not having a follow on dog up and coming as I had two lurchers a long legged terrier so didnt want five dogs.

But after when we lose the next one shall bring a young one on once the the other is four.

Heres a another picture of Merlin aged roughly 3 I think cant quit remember.
