nice dog darren how is he for pace mate good thick legs on him atb troter

He has a lot of pace he can be explosive the shock is he comes back and he's not knackered, I think his only main problem is inexperience he hasn't grasped when to use his acceleration so he overshoots, sometimes or he will go out slow rabbit gets up he sets off and overtakes the rabbit his pace really is good he just needs to adjust it at the right time and that as far as I can tell this is down to inexperience at 91/2 month I am really not worried, he hasn't run loads openly, he is getting the hang of ferreting though, which is why I got him,

I dont mind whippets, but I like the small crosses better...

i've a real soft spot for whippets, worked them mainly at rabbits but the right sort will take the odd hare and fox and don't have to be monsters for that either. i found they suffer when standing abo

This is a 20 inch racing wippet x with a greyhound austrailin cattle dog mix lurcher my first lurcher for 30yr,he is a very capable little dog 9 1/2 month old 22 inch to the shoulder now taking rabbits to ferrets and nets / longnets, retreives crows, swims, he has had only a few open runs on rabbits with lamp and hasnt shamed himself,I am falling in love with these breeds, they are not what you think, this dog joins in with the spaniel lab and pointer,he is starting to work alongside them in a team manner, I dont believe these dogs are just rabbit and rat dogs,I am going to experiment with this dog and see what he is capable of, over the next summer the prey drive in these dogs is amazing, its a case of if they can be taught to use it in the proper manner,I always wanted to train a net dog for longnetting, dads was a hill cattle collie dog x with a terrier, dont know how he trained it but would like to try with this boy,if I can find some reference to their training,

Very strong dog, have you any idea what the racing whippets name was. My late father used to race non peds, was it non ped?. Your dog should make a good lamp and ferreting dog and should be able to take a knock or two, very nice indeed.

Darbo, years ago I went to the one and only lurcher show in my town, i arrived late, and there was a lad packing up to go home, he had a pen with three pups, and had the Bedlington and the Whippet with him, he came from Ayr, I cant remember what the breeding was, only that the sire and dam worked rabbits, i paid £15 for her, the best money i have ever spent, She caught Hare, rabbits, pheasant, duck, rats, and stoat.

I also used to beat with her, on local shoots, great wee marking dog, never told lies

i like seeing hares about, i had to watch her, as she came very good at catching them in the den,

when ferreting she would mark, then lie behind the bury, if a dig was on, she would move on to the next occupied bury, and lie and wait on you coming, she saved me a lot of time, wish I still had her.
