I had my sister and her family visit yesterday so as it was Sunday I roasted a joint of lamb shoulder (bargain find in Tescos, was £18 reduced to £8 ). I've now been left with a tray full of solidified roasted lamb fat. As dogs get most of their energy from eating animal fat would this be a good addition to my dogs meals or should I just put it on the bird table?

I,d be mixing a spoonfull into the dogs feed every day untill it ran out, good for their coats, i used to put the bones from sunday roast,s on my bird table and they used to vanish over night, wasnt sure who the culprit was untill i found fox shite on top of the wall under the bird table :hmm: .

Both cooked and raw fat digests pretty well, shame as it could be the new diet craze, cooked fat has fewer calories but alas not to be.

The good news is that the theory of bad fat versus good fat has been studied and is not as clear cut as was first theorised, basically a little butter won’t kill you after all. As with all things moderation and a little bit of what you fancy does you good.

Now where’s that fried breakfast?
