NEWKID 27,316
My first car was a mk3 escort 1985 plate, we got pulled coming back from lamping one night, 2 dogs and 3 17 yr old lads piled in ,dogs heads out of the window, the police woman asked me to open the boot, there were half a dozen rabbits and a cricket bat in there ( we had been have a knock about that day) ..... she asked me what the cricket bat was for I replied "for playing cricket", I don't know what she thought it was for. They were called Ford Anglia, but were nothing like the other Anglia. Worst motor I lamped in was a Simca Van, not a bad motor in itself, but mine had no 1st gear, and I had to reverse up steep hills !! LOL !! Cheers. Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,315
Tomo; I had the "Vanden Plas Princess", the wedge shaped one, black, with tinted windows, blue velour plush seats, trasnsverse six cylinder !! Looked the business; but what a heap of shite, and you're right about the fuel consumption, but it wasn't so expensive in those days ! I think the best motors I had back then were Viva or Morris 1000 vans ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
