whin 463 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Share Posted December 17, 2011 went out this morning clearin some hedgrows for farmer , so took saluki cross and her pup , a couple dog ferrets and a young bitch , we netted up put a dog feret in abit of action one bolts mhirn pegs it a bit more bumping i try to get amark , no signal, fecher, batts are dud in locator box , so kept going no locator just dogs and ferrets , try another burrie dogs have marked , woosh a rabbit bolts , mhirn runs along hedge rabbit tries to make it in next warren but she gets it , i bolt another few then ,i say fech it as there will be another day with full team batteries included lol, good to see pup taking her position under bushes listning learning a great learning curve , any way short and sweet over and done in a few hours , lucky five mins from house , nothing bbetter than watching apup learnin a bit about feild craft great crack , 1 Quote Link to post

whin 463 Posted December 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 17, 2011 mhirn is how i spell it , mate ye i can walk any direction and find something,i spell it like that but ypu southerens would say murn , ye bryson i was talking to dave , told him you still had the pup , the minute the ferrets are out now pups watchin no puppyness ferrets come out ,pup goes back to being pup,,great ,its time to schooll her a bit more training wise , as she is starting to , learn what fredom is so time to track her back and come when i say as it means action or a bolt ,the short lessons with mother pup are the best for training and entering , shees starting to watch nets now a bit but mothers to quick to them she just hangs back sheel get her time Quote Link to post
lampingkid 56 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Share Posted December 17, 2011 i was out today for a few hours with a mate i took my whippet x pup and my 3 year old terrier for marking the first warren we done both dogs had good mark but had a dig and nothing so went to the next warren 2 bolts out but missed them by a hair so not a good day but enjoyable to see they whippet and terrier work and hearing and looking showing good sings alb daryl Quote Link to post
