chartpolski 23,471
I may be wrong, and I'm sure the coursing lads will put me right, but didn't the "Merlin & Eve" lines have Bedlington in them ? Cheers. Quote Link to post

whin 463
i remeber a on older gent coming to my house with a dog from beddie land beddie grew , he was disgusted with its make up and said its a heedless chicken ,old border lad , you will get some good working beddie crosses but i wouldnt start them on hares i like there fire but not there running brain and they have that annoying terrier hard headness at times , there will be some good one but only afool buys a bedie to cacth good winter hares 1 Quote Link to post
reddawn 2,173
iv seen a few beddy crosses, some straight halfs an some more lurchery in breeding with beddy in the mix, only ever seen 1 good beddy/grey seen a few crap yins, but i wont judge a whole x just on the few iv seen, what i will say tho is i agree that when the beddy/grey is bred to summat else, say a collie/grey or a sal/grey then the pups seem to turn into decent dogs with time an effort put into them Edited December 17, 2011 by reddawn Quote Link to post

whin 463
troter you got a good bedie cross greyhound be nice to see one better still if its a good hare flusher ,they must be ararity , a good one , a genuine first cross,it makes sense you breed a dog that cant catch a hare to adog that maybe catches some then you get a hare dog this internets a [bANNED TEXT] laugh ,so you have aterrier you breed it to atrack greyhound then you get ahare cacther fekin brilliant , when the feild trails were on years ago never ever saw a good bedie and there were some fine animals there to show there worth , alsaition crosses colie type didnt see any beddies ,mate , but kep on cacthing flushing hares with the bedie cross greyhound , good man heard hoskers dogs years ago they struggled on a good hare in areas were game was easy , i like the litle bedie crosses nice litle dogs Quote Link to post

I don't disparage EVERY breed or cross, simply because it's not what I keep. There are lots of Lurchers out there, so it's wrong to condemn certain crosses, just because it's not what you keep !
