how long should i wait

Just because they kill rats dont mean they are gona be hard,they could turn out completely sounders.As for there age i would try the 13month old in a handy place and leave the other untill end of feb then try it,hope they turn out ok for you.

IMO I think a terrier that is going to make the grade should at over a year old handle a fox surly if the right stuff is there. I agree with the last post altough rats are great encouragement for a terrier its hard to tell if their going to be hard just on how they handle a rat. You can only tell that on the digs you get with them plenty hard dogs became mixers and sounders. All the best with them.

well i think i doing the right thing but my mates want to try them think tthe well up for it but i think it would spoil them one of the patt ia out of savage stuff and famous for starting early

your mate just wants to have someones dog in the ground, mine started at 12months but he was mature enough, hes still going steady now at 2 years, allthough he didnt do another dig till he wa 15 months old, its your dog and your decision just dont ruin the dog like so many have!
