dogvixen01 34
does the camcorder have nightvision mode.( NIGHTSHOT PLUS ) in order to be able to use i/r .if so some people use a n100 ap laser or a i/r filter with a clulite or deben lamp.depends on what you want to spend. there are also some small type torch kits available with i/r filters.atb. dogvixen01 34
my advice is before buying anything you fancy,to ask on this forum if anybody else has used what you intend to buy,if it is any good ,or if someone living near you has one you can try .there is a lot of good and bad stuff out there and mistakes can be costly.there are a lot of boys on the airgun hunting section which will help you out , as they do a lot of camcorder hunting , so try puting your question on that section as well in the appropriate heading ,.because more people read and reply on it.atb.
sako 23
With a camcorder you need loads of IR light, if you only want to shoot airgun ranges a lamp and IR filter will suffice. Don't buy an LED torch with IR filter as they don't work like a halogen lamp. A deben max with IR filter will allow you to shoot clearly at 60yrds and possibly more but if you want maximum distance the N1000 laser is about the best it's going to get. If you've already got a lamp just buy an IR filter. If you haven't got a lamp then get a N1000 as it will cost less than a decent lamp, battery and IR filter and also you've got no trailing wires. The best light I found for distance with a camcorder was by mounting two lasers but for the 'best' light at 40yrds I prefer a lamp. I don't actually use a camcorder but bought a pc9e just to try out and do some filming and was amazed how good they are at closer ranges but they do need loads of IR.
