after a dog/bitch lurcher

Recommended Posts

i am after a dog or bitch good with kids [2 boys 12 and 9] anywere from 8 to 12 months old working ability irrelevant. have had plenty experience in the past with lurchers working with lamp ferrets etc. but one now mainly wanted as a pet companion and for taking on walks. before anyone chews my arse. in my opinion its better to give a dog /or bitch a stable home then do the meery go round of various homes to end up dumped on the streets. preferably stock steady but a good even temperment with kids is an absolute must!!!. most lurchers have but the odd 1 dont. i am willing to pay your price come and view and vice versa you can come to my house and check has it will be an house dog.

both me and my partner work i work till three so it will be out first thing before i go to work and as soon as get home and again at night i aint a fair weather walker so its out whatever the weather i have pics from my youth with various lurchers etc. any over questions just reply i live in the greater manchester area and am wiling to travel 25 to 30 miles out my area or more for the right dog or bitch just missed out on a bull x grey x lurcher bitch.

to bring everyone up to date a aquired a rescue dog the kennel says it is greyhound but i doubt it very much not tall enough 25 26 max at shoulder. maybe whippet greyhound or a lurcher x lurcher cross has he has a very sharp snout .he is 12 month old dog who has the temperemeant off a bitch or a dog much older, and is placid and gentle and brilliant with the kids. if it ever catches my dinner is irelevant but by the state of his ears he has eithier been worked to soon or maybe worse.??? point is i have given him a home and the kids love him and he hasnt got as far as i can be sure a bad bone in him . what people expect a dog to achieve at 12 months old .?? god knows some can and mayat 12 months do at 9 months but there the exception if people are honest. he doesnt like being left alone so i assume he may have been dumped.

he is a lovely fellow and i know people on the site will wish him all the best in the future even if he cant catch a rabbit dinner lol .

25 to the shoulder measured him. like i said he is still a puppy nervous but hopefully will grow out of it given time and patience i have had lurchers all my youth and was into the ferreting lamping etc when younger. my last dog died at 15 about 9 years ago then got married had kids etc etc. i aint to sure its a greyhound no tattoo in its ear and for a dog 25 is small to the shoulder could be wrong i know just going off looks etc . just trying to settle him down in the kitchen as i type and got the goggle box on hope he likes MOTD, kids arent helping think i am a tight git just going in every 15 mins but it has to be done.
