Guest Ditch_Shitter
F*cks Me!!! What in hell have I started here now?! How in gods name does Anyone build a planned fence then? And Would 4" planks and gaps look shit? I was only guessing! It's just to keep the bloody Dogs in. Otherwise they troop off up the ditch and go walk about. Ok; Let's put it another way then; I want to build a thirty and a twenty (too, eventually. But I'm not made of bleedin money!) fence to hold my Dogs back. Rails I can take care of myself. Posts too. What does the panal think would be a decent plank width and spacing, please? Bearing in mind that we have minor hurricane force gusts here through the winter? Who ever said we need a Professional in on this was dead right! What a f*ckin nightmare!

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Lonedigga; I'm painfully aware that no power on this earth or above it, not measured in FPS is going to stop my little JR getting just about where she chooses. Thus I'm not even bothering to yrt and fence her in Besides; The fences I speak of here are 'Front and Back' affairs. There's a 'Stock fence to one side and she uses that as a throughfare. That's why I can have such big gaps and economise Lurchers going over four foot fences? I should hope so too! However, I don't have any Lurchers to worry about. The Dogs concerned simply need a physical barrier to relate to. It's more an exercise in Territory Definition than a recreation of Colditz. FastDogz; I got as far as the initial measurement of length, love. Then I stroked my chin a bit and thought, " F*ck this! Forum! "

Russell 0
,your prefered option will need 62 4ft or 248 ft of plank, hope this helps He will need 47 planks. Fence length - 31 ft., which is 372 inches 4 inch plank + 4 inch gap = 8 inches 372 divided by 8 = 46.5 - but the last plank used will be a full plank, not a half plank, so 47 planks are required. What ever width plank & gap you decide to use add the two up together & divide into 372 inches, then round up.
