FX Verminator vs Daystate MCT Airwolf Tactical

Recommended Posts

Apart from my Urban Fox Control business where I use a .22 LR Rimfire; I do a fair bit of Feral Pigeon Shooting work.

I currently use a BSA Lightning .22 12ft/lb.

I am now looking for a PCP rifle for my contractual work as a step-up from the spring rifle.

I have short listed the FX Verminator and the Daystate MCT Airwolf Tactical.

I would like to get a variation on my FAC to get the air rifle up to around 32ft/lb for grey squirrel/rabbit work.

I just wanted to find out if anyone else has the above and whether they have them 'cranked-up' over 12ft/lb?

After researching this and speaking to a friend in the know, i would seriously think about a Theoben Rapid 7 Mk2 or a Theoben MFR in .22 or .25 rather than the other 2 named rifles. The Verminator though light, accuarate and small has a tendency to leak from the fill port and the Daystate is too nice to use as a works tool where it will be subject to dust and foreign particles in old factories, sheds and barns. The Rapids are much more robust work horses and can with stand all the bad things that come with a pest control environment task.

I am strongly looking at the Theoben Mk1 Rapid 7. having used on in the past when I worked for Rentokil.

On way home I stopped at Tesco.

Walked down the magazine ilse and what's on the front cover of Airgun World........ "The new FX Verminator MKII".

Why does this have to be so hard :hmm:

if your into pest controll a daystate offers 15 power settings from 8 -30ft lbs in mine 8 = 40ft lbs in the wolf + insane accuracy if you pass leicestershire you are welcome to play and i bet it will convert you.the rapid has a reputation that can not be questioned but hold the two and you will find out how dated it is.daystate electrics are economical with the air wich you will need with fac.
