dogs-n-natives 1,182
When you look at the strains of bulls that are/were used for their intended purpose, they're always relatively small build, as in not muscle bound and quite lightweight, the Americanised non workings ones are the ones that are bigger boned and muscle bound. And with the greyhound, the ones that would be better suited to working are the ones that are on the smaller side as they'd have more stamina and turning ability (correct?). So when breeding a bull x from worker to worker surely it would be smaller than some of the bull crosses you see on here? Some people seem to think more highly of the proper massive bull crosses and some people have commented about how a sub 23 inch bull cross would be a bit too small to do the business on a regular basis, and yet if you bred a true fighting bull with a small/medium sized greyhound chances are a lot of the time that's what you'd get, and I wouldn't have though a fighting bull crossed with a decent running dog would have any problem doing it's job? For good results you should be aiming for a lurcher of 24-28 inches, and I like a dog with some weight behind it, say 70-90 lbs, and FAST, good feet, VERY AGILE, and super determined. rob190364 2,594
the Americanised non workings ones are the ones that are bigger boned and muscle bound. What the f**k is that suppose to mean? Do all you cock suckers have little man's syndrome? Tell me since you know so f****n much why is it that probably the best line of bullcrosses in the UK was started with an imported bulldog bitch from over here? Calm down petal! god, anyone would think I'd taken a doughnut off you!!! I just meant the ones over there that are pets seemed to have gone bigger and more muscle bound, I'm sure the working ones over there are not like that either. You don't tend to see people having them over here as pets that often cos they're banned, if they weren't banned over here then no doubt the pet ones over here would have gone the same way.
