chris k 205
liveing up in yorkshire when the winter hits it really does hit! Now im wanting to do some more hunting but im a bit worried about the toll it may take on the rifle (rust and so on). its a tx200 and was wondering if anyones found a may af makeing a cover or something like that to protect 1 while offering some sort of camo from the elements? its a bit tricky with it been a under lever but i thought someone on here may have found a may of doing it. Any help would be most welcome Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
wipe down and a can of ballistol all over every bit of your gun, its good stuff, its also gunex oil from ballistol, highly weather proof, i use both, but dont use the high weather proof as often as the all rounder ballistol, as for camo, you good get camo tap, dark socks or t-shirts cut em up in the leaf like and stick them to a bobble, or whatever, but all the camo stuff will soak up the water anyway, best off taking a dry rag, quick wipe down before into the case, get home, wipe it down again leave in room temp for hr or two, wipe condensation off, and a nice spray will to the job, aslong as you remember to do it , it shouldnt rust . ps take stock off nd dry out too 1 Quote Link to post
19powell90 89
your rifle wont rust when your out. it will only rust if you bring it home wet and dont clean it. covering it up will more likely make it rust. when you get home just give it a wipe down with a cloth and let it heat up to the surrounding heat of your house then give it a spray of oil and wipe scott 1 Quote Link to post
