Guest Manitoba
a true pikers paradise with a huge area to fish , from small dykes to the mighty great ouse ,, zander galore years back from the cut off to the middle level , every year we fish it less as mis management from the river authority and the increase in baited lines have made it a shadow of its former self . impossible to protect from frome the line baters and seen for myself numerous times dicarded heads and gills of some very good fish laying in the rushes / still plenty of great fishing to be had for the angler prepared to walk a few miles and travel light and stay ahead of the freezer fillers Quote Link to post

nod 285
this time of year there is a few anglers on the rivers everyday, there was a match few weeks ago and over 100 pike were caught biggest went 25lb, zander are thin on the ground and a nice walk if you want to find them biggest i have seen come out was 14lb from the river delph at manea, but cannot get over the bedford at that end no more, the pumping station down welches dam is always good for a few had 5 fish there last year for total of 75lb in 2 hours, the silver fish seem to shoal at the back of the pumping station in the delph and the pike follow them, 16 foot is producing some to 18lb at moment and the 40 foot near ramsey someone is always there but small jacks a plenty.
