sussexpoacher 45
You dont want a first x grey collie if you want only a small amount of collie in it, look for something with collie in the mix from a couple of crosses in the past. I run a first cross collie grey and he is ok but in my opinion you can never tell what the pups are going to be like for work with a first cross like this. Quote Link to post

I'm intreaged by this ! Why would you want a collie x and then say you want as little collie as possible in it ? There are people who breed and run dogs in Lurcher racing, that are 31/32 Greyhound and 1/32 Collie, just to salve their own conscience and kid themselves that they have "Lurchers" and not "pure Greyhounds" ! Do you want this Greyhound, with a wee bit of Collie in it, for a specific purpose ? Cheers. Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
theres absolutely nothing wrong with a half cross collie greyhound as long as your not into hares in a big way ,all other quarry can be taken with ease with this cross.i owned a few in the past and i rate them just my opinion lads before any arguments arise lol Quote Link to post

pot hunter 24
if your going for less than 1/4 collie ie 1/8 collie, then a tiny drop of saluki in the sight hound 7/8 side will help with toughening up the feet and be more durable that 1/8 collie 7/8 greyhound. 2 Quote Link to post
