Guest bezza
Both Khan and Fury get a lot of racist stick on here. I'd like to see some of the cowards who criticise them because of their race actually say to their face what they spew out on here about them. They are both brits to me, some of their clan are evil b*****ds, just as some of your clan and mine are. It's 2011 boys, feckin grow up.
gnasher16 30,217
gnash he aint bud if he was class he would have put him to bed he did not .....who said anything about class......i said he is one of the most exciting fighters out there which he is.......virtually every fight he has is an exciting fight......very often the best fighters dont compete in the best fights Mayweather/Klitchko being perfect examples......when a fighter has flaws to his game like Khan does it makes for an exciting fight. I think you know the game a little bit better than to believe a fighter can become a world champion without being a very good fighter

I believe you cant make fair judgement on an athlete when you look past the reason you know their name..................similar to how you hear folk making judgement about Wayne Rooney or John Terry based on things nothing to do with football. For me one of the beauties of sport is the way it does not and cannot bow down to the pressures that other walks of life suffer with......if your good enough it dont matter what colour you are multiculturalism dont exist in sport ! I think you know the game a little bit better than to believe a fighter can become a world champion without being a very good fighter i was going to say in a earlier post his world title was indeed managed as were many , he has limited pulling power and dont see that improving after the week ends result , his asseperations to go on and fight mayweather will have to be put on hold , he may get a rematch but even now he is making demands on the boxing , neutral refs judges pakistani ref maybe or hold it in karachi
gnasher16 30,217
Managed ........its professional boxing mate not amateur......show me a fighter who wasnt managed to a world title.....pro boxing is a business, you get in make your money and get out......thats if your lucky.........whatever is in your favour of making top money you use, look at Ricky Hatton as an example of that he had the whole nation going with that boy next door im just one of the lads bollocks.......he became one of the wealthiest fighters this country has ever produced yet easily lost the 2 biggest fights of his career......good luck to him he played the public and was well advised.......i didnt like him as a character the way you dont like Khan......but it dont cloud my judgement that he was a top level world class fighter a boxing purist just cant have these prejudices. Limited pulling power.....Goldenboy are possibly the biggest outfit in the sport.....are they wrong ?........ Khan had the bollocks and confidence to go to Petersons back yard and i wouldnt fault that....but thats the risk you take in that if you lose you become the challenger again with no rights and i very much doubt Peterson will come to England............. Guest bezza
Gnasher , this is a bit off topic but when you say Hatton was a world class fighter I agree. I wouldn't like to fall out with him, but there's a difference between a world class fighter and a world class boxer. In my opinion he wasn't the latter. You cannot be a world class boxer and have no defence.
gnasher16 30,217
He was good enough at what he did to mix it in top company theres no doubt about that......all i meant was if he had worked as hard on his boxing career as he did on his public image and getting people on his side who knows how his career might have panned out. As regards Fury,s father i think im right in saying he only had a handful of fights, without being disrespectful he was never anything more than a journeyman ( which theres nothing wrong with ).....so 6 weeks notice is an absolute luxury !....top level fighters peak themself for a fight date, journeymen and " opponent " type fighters generally keep themself in good nick all year round so they can take fights on short notice 6 days there might be a bit of an excuse but not 6 weeks Its all different now but back years ago journeymen fighters could make a good living if they had a good manager....i forgot henry decked Lewis your right i think he was disqualified for holding late in the fight.
