Hawke lrf 400

I've just bought one of these and either they are rubbish or this one has a fault.

 

I can range on a couple of cars in the street but nothing else, not even a garage.

 

I thought maybe there might be interference from something so took it to a local park. It wont find trees, signs, cars, telegraph poles, in fact anything.

 

Am I doing something stupidly wrong, I'm following the instruction given in the manual, or does it sound faulty?

is it misty/raining there? if so make sure you got it on right setting,i have one and its fine apart from if its misty but you do need to have them on the right setting

they are pony in the mist for sure,mine wont even rangefind a A4 piece of paper in the mist, it must properly bugger up the laser

No, fine and clear.

 

I've been out again and tried it in all modes but the only thing it will pick up is the car at the end of the street.

 

Must be a faulty one

mine works fine 2, had no probs with it at all,i would take it back and get them to exchange it.

does sound faulty , mines works great ,never had any problems with it, i would return it and get a replacement one ,if you get one that works then there a great bit of kit.

Sounds simple but fresh battery?

Or have you checked and cleaned both lenses?

Mine began going 'out' (different make and model) after the battery began to fail and although it could find bright objects, dull/fine objects were hard work.

Just a thought.

I have tried a new battery this morning and it's still the same, looks like a faulty one.

I think its faulty as I have just purchased a guntuff lrf and its awesome. It picks things up as small as pellet tins at 20 yards.

 

Maybe get your money back.
