vasectomies in ferrets your opinion

Ive never had a vasectomised hob but have heard the tubes sometimes re attach, i need to resolve the breeding issue as i dont want a shed full of kits this year.

 

I wouls appreciate your comments ladies and gents.

Had one done...........so far so good he's brought a few jills out of season.

 

I mentioned this to my vet and he said its very rare that it does happen.

Sorry but no experience of vasectomised hobs. However, I get my jills spayed and hobs castrated (though currently don't have a hob). It may cost a bit but it means I can keep them all together all year round with no problems. Not quite the advice you were after but it may help.

ive always had a vasectomised hob and never had a problem although i do know someone who had his done and had the problem you mention,the vet repeated the op and it was fine from then on.

We have had 3 hobs done over the years and never had a problem you do however have to make sure you leave the hob long enough after the op to insure that he is fireing blanks we left ours for about 4 months before putting them with any jills and as said never had any unwanted litters

To a lot of jills, mates jills, friend of a friends jills to find out later that the op didn't work and a shed load of kits
