whippet type collar

Recommended Posts

what guys use to get years ago was,,leather whippet collars made then ,,,personlised,,,,i,e there dogs name ingraved or ingraving off a whippet chasing rabbit ect ect

its the 1st one i have made for a whippet so i gues you learn by ya misstakes cheers for the tip i'll have a look for some stamps for doing things like that probably would look better with a dog chasing

i like the thickness off the leather yer using to make ur collars,,,cos they look solid and a life time thing,,rather than the thin crap leather ya get out a pet store,,,,,,,i once won a crystal tanker,,,,that had ingraved a lurcher running a hare ,,,i thought then ,,,that would look smart on a leather collar

my old man got one made in early 80,s ,,,with his dogs racing name,,,it had tint off red,,,it was done in such away it was like the leather was natural red ,,and racing name was in gold colour with flowery pattern round edges,,,he paid back then a fortune for it lol,,,but it was smart

i think if ya can produce the lurcher running hare(deer-fox-ect) on collar ,,sort off thing,,ect and diffrent desighns and reasonble priced,,,,i think ull be on to winner

not my taste but looks like a solid collar.   Clean your nails young man! You can see which one you scratch your arse with lol!

Ignore some people mate. Jealousy is a killer.

Gafer, google the site Hide and Collars, and you will see some stoating Whippet collars, no big brass studs, just quality leather and lined with Lamb or deer skin, i think whippet x greyhound is rig

Gafer,

google the site Hide and Collars, and you will see some stoating Whippet collars, no big brass studs, just quality leather and lined with Lamb or deer skin, i think whippet x greyhound is right.

Whippets are elegant dogs and a good well made plain collar compliments them.

cant find pic off my old mans dog pic only,,,but ill find it as it was a smart collar ,,simple but very nice ,,,the collar she had at 10month,,,next time at parents ill ask,,,,as his brindle dog in question misty i fancy stealing few pic off her past ,,,iam sure theres afew off her in 80,s with her catch for the day,,,i rember pic off her with 27 rabbits on door step,,,and iam sure she use to get invited out with local lurcher guys on the hares,,,,,good read about her ,,,how old man use to hitch lifts to dundee to the reginals champs 20miles away ,,,and use to train her to lie in feild ,,,get a lift and shout her over as no one pick up hitchers with dog lol win her reginal title and hunt on way home lol

the pic is her,,,those collars never lasted,,couple month later he bought a decent one lasted her 16 years,,,thats why i mentioned the thickness off leather ,,as its similar to the thickness she had (,,,p,s doglying down was a bully whippet,,,and it could run,,before anyone says that a fat whippet lol lol
