Pleased with my young Bitch

Recommended Posts

I went out to a place that is having problems with coons, its a big riding arena with large round bales at the rear end of it, i took my young border bitch " T" and a border/russell bitch Bristle, now T has had only been out a few times and has gradually gotten beter and beter , today she sorted the second coon of the day very well, the coon unusually bolted from the round bales at the back of the arena into the kick boards at the side of the arena she then pushed the coon the full length of the arena till it bolted again behind a big stacked pile of firewood and proceded to work it nicely for 40mins or so much to the frustration of my young lurcher Mick who was annoying the shite out of me barking and carrying on, trying to tear the stick pile down to get in on the action, :-)

anyway i thought she did a very good job and has the makings of being a very good dog, Bristle got the first coon of the afternoon quite uneventfully by working it for 25 mins or so till she managed to get it close enough for mick to grab it and inflick the " cour de gras" all in all a good couple of hours work

nice border there how old is she pal?

She's around 18 months old maybe a bit younger , I'd have to look at her papers, I took her out a couple of times last winter, and just let her watch a bit, rag a few dead coons, tbh I didn't think she was gonna make much, I friend even said to me he thought she's a cull, but I stuck with her and she's doing good
