Jumping

I started at about 6 months started of small then build it up higher then when there jumping no problem out to the fields an leave them until the jump he fence wheather it took an hour or not but its easyer if ya have an older dog to show the pup mate gd luck all tye best

i start them young with just real small leaps and bounds mor like fun chase games over a a branch or something, build there confidence up, get them on stiles where they can use the steps to help them, gradually find neeter fences with no help as they hit about 7 month, then eventually they will just start jumping the barbed wire with ease, but as soon as they snag on the barbed wire, it will take a long time to get there confidence back :thumbs: atb FTB

when starting jumping wire on command put a coat over the wire they are jumping. dont want no early day accidents.

i train them on kennel doors , with boards then get them out and let them follow big dogs they go over what they can and find agap when they can mines is 18 weeks now jumping over 2 to 3 feet on soft grass , i like watching agood course on adog that jumps an even bette rif they jump back with rabbetc an dhare befor ban

Hi, how do you properly train your lurcher to jump, and at what age and what height to start with?

doing a vid mate of how i get my dogs jumping put on for you hope it helps

My pup taught himself, I found that out when I came home found a shit in the hall way and baby gate was closed, so called pip and the little shite jumped over

 

Mine learnt by jumping the baby gate. :yes: I progressed to getting him to jump the 4ft fence round the park at the front of my old place & he then progressed jumping to the 5 1/5 foot garden gate all by himself.. :doh::angry::laugh:
