bunnybasher69 56
I was reading a write up on Countryman's Weekly about hoop ferret nets and was wondering if anyone has tried them? I wanted to make a few up but don't know what he had used to make the hoop with. They were saying a few rabbits can hit the net without having to change the net as soon as they hit and you can put them on the entrance of brambles and hedges where a regular net would get hung up. Most the places I am ferreting I have to spend a good deal of time hacking back bran=mbles before trying to set nets and these sound perfect for me. Any information would be greatly appreciated. paulus 26
easy to make or just use an old fishing keep net you can make hoops as win says out of fence straining wire if you cover the hoop with chicken wire and hinge them there good for stopping rabbits bolting hole to hole, use to do it when i was flying bop years ago, Quote Link to post

And what do you use for the net? you bend the ends into a loop then bend another piece of wire into a u shape then pass the u through the loops to make a hinge the ends of the u shape are the pushed into the ground, i didnt use nets i covered the hoop in chicken wire so it was used like a one way lid to stop rabbits hole hopping but you could attach a net.
