muddy210 34
ive both normal working ferrets and a half eu hob here and in all honesty the half eu is no match to the ferrets for normal everyday working. he took a lot longer to come to terms with handling he can sulk like fu*k when he wants and hes a lot lot bigger than the rest of the gang. when it comes to work hes a very determined animal and due to his size doesnt take a lot of greif when in the ground. i have him for a set reason and that is to dig to when the jills are layed up if they do hes my "liner" for want of a ferreting term. he will move on the others when required hes housed seperate to them and because of his size they move when he gets there just what i want in some of the ground im working 15ft digs arnt for me anymore. BUT and its a big BUT he is no different to my old hob who was no more thana standard hob ferret. in my opinion they dont work any harder or produce any better results than the normal everyday ferrets that i can get all over the uk. people will breed eu ferrets to make money just like every other fancy type of fert or similar. for best results go for a tried and tested worker to worker ferret of known background as a base line they result in a more stable animal for starters my kids and ferrets all enjoy each others company but no way will i let the poley near them as i dont trust him with them there is still so much of the wild gene in him. but then again hes a big softie towards me. 2 Quote Link to post
