lapin2008 1,587
I wouldnt normally take the time to put a write up of a night out much less one that resulted in a single rabbit but figured due to my circumstances this was a fairly special one. I got food poisoning on a work trip out to the middle east this resulted in my body having a reaction to it and me becoming in some ways paralised and in others so weak i couldnt do anything useful with my limbs. My season so far has pretty much consisted of being helped on and off the bog by nurses. Basically far from ideal especially as I have a young dog (15 months ish) that had been showing loads of promise early on and I had been hoping to throw loads of work at him throughout the season. I am on the mend now and got discharged about 2 weeks ago but can still barely walk and certainly cant walk on any un-even surface without falling over and getting stuck.lol. That said i have been itching to get out so have been trying to push what i can do. Am now at the point where i can walk the dogs myself (providing they dont see another dog/a cat or anything that would make them want to pull). I just stick to an unused country road that goes up from my house and the dogs do the tour of all the fields either side of the road. I figured it was too much to take a lamp with me as when they see it are likely to pull and even the slightest pull will have me off my feet lol. Anyway I had resigned myself to the fact that the dogs probably wouldnt get a bite of anything this season but then on my nightly shuffle out last night he put this up in the middle of a field and caught it by moonlight bringing it back to me alive, he has done this a couple of times before but it seems more of a big deal to me this time. atb 7 Quote Link to post

lapin2008 1,587
Congratulations!!! sorry to hear what happened to you though bud, that's well bad!!!!! you wouldn't think food poisoning could have such a major effect. Hope you get better soon, in time to get some sessions in before the end of the season. Thanks for the comments lads. Its not so much the food poisoning in itself its the bodies malfunction as a result of the infection. Basically the antibodies get confused and instead of attacking the infection attack your nerve endings. Its called Guilliam Barre syndrome. I have had a fairly mild case of it thank god, the more serious cases people are in intensive care for months and when they start to recover have to learn how to use all their muscles again even down to moving their eyes from side to side. with me i couldnt move any muscles in my lower legs and with my arms and legs could move them but had no strength at all. Its getting better slowly but surely but should be able to go for a bit of a lamp late feb atb Quote Link to post
