zini 1,939
Thanks Andy, I did it as quick as i could cock the rifle and then re focus on the target through the scope. Normally when i do it its with a semi automatic rifle so it cocks itself. I then try to get a shot away every 2 seconds or when one appears and pops up. Si. Quote Link to post

Tanican 24
Thanks Davy. I look forward to hearing how Si gets on then. I noticed you both shoot a lot of quarry over the recommended air rifle shooting ranges with good results. Are you using more powerful air rifles to do this or is the 30 to 35 yard max ranges wrong now days due to better air rifles? I love watching the dvds. Learnt so much from Si, he seems to really know his subjects well and explains and demonstrates really well. I suppose experience counts for lots and I bet you and him have been shooting longer than my short 3 years. Tanican. Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Most of us (Si and Davy included) use sub 12 air rifles Modern Rifles are far more accurate than the shooters using them (one thing we all agree on) which basically means a good marksman will push his boundaries until he feels he is at his limit. Si is an amazing Marksman (as well as an expert on Ballistics) as are a few others on here. I was pretty good myself a couple of years ago (See my avatar holding the Silverware from a meet) but not had much practice/shooting over the last 12 months. Get your name down fo the Meet in Nottingham in June next yeat and meet us all in person Tony Quote Link to post
Mark274 0
Good shooting. I'll have to practice a lot more and give some of your challenges a try. Quote Link to post
Tanican 24
Very good and informative answer Phantom thank you. Yes if my illness keeps improving I would love to get a invite to attend this get together. I'm no where up to these challenge standards though but am willing to give them ago. I tend to shoot my Ultra in the garden which is no further than 20 yards, but it can sometimes land a pellet on top of the previous one when rested on my cushion. I've not really shot at real long ranges over 30 yards so not sure how I or the Ultra would perform. I find it easier to shoot than my old hw35 though. Tanican. Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi Tanican the rifles you see Si and I shooting are below 12ft/lbs, I keep my AAS410K at 11.42ft/lbs and zero at 35yds. so a lot of practise goes in to shooting passed the recommended ranges, once the conditions are right and you apply the right hold over, these rifles will go way passed what most air gun magazine'S will tell you,its just knowing your limits and practise and practise. so get practising see you at the meet regards Davy Quote Link to post
